Our Lab-grown stones
After a few years in the making and in addition to its natural stones, Aya is so excited to enter a new era with the launch of its new Chloe collection - one which embraces innovation and uses lab-grown diamonds and stones. These stones, ethically produced and identical in composition to natural gems, highlight Aya’s commitment to sustainability in an ever-evolving industry. Loved for their colour perfection, impeccable clarity and environmentally conscious production, we’re so pleased to offer lab grown stones to our customers.
lab-grown emeralds
Our lab-grown emeralds have been formed using the hydrothermal method - a sophisticated process that closely mimics the natural conditions under which emeralds form. The method involves dissolving nutrients, typically beryllium and aluminium, in a high-temperature, high-pressure solution of water within a sealed environment. Over time, emerald crystals precipitate from this solution onto a seed crystal, growing layer by layer. The emeralds that form possess the same chemical composition and crystal structure as their natural counterparts, with vibrant, vivid green hues and remarkable clarity. Lab-grown emeralds sit across our new Chloe collection, spanning rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets, each set in 18k gold vermeil.
lab-grown diamonds
Our lab-grown Diamonds are formed using the CVD and HPHT methods - two processes that use cutting-edge technology to create Diamonds that are chemically and physically identical to the natural stones. These methods subject Diamond seeds to high temperatures and pressures that mimic mine conditions, combining them with rich gases until the seed grows layer by layer to form a perfect Diamond. Just like natural Diamonds, these lab-grown stones score a perfect 10 on the Mohs scale of hardness, making them extremely durable and perfect for everyday wear. With no mining required and the ability to have a completely transparent supply chain, lab-grown stones are growing in popularity as a more affordable, (yet completely identical) alternative to natural stones - we are so pleased to respond to this increasing interest with the introduction of our Chloe collection.
