Our natural stones

Natural gemstones are little treasures of the earth, formed through geological processes over millions of years and loved for their one-of-a-kind beauty, rarity and significant roles in culture, art and history. Not only admired for their aesthetic appeal but also celebrated for their metaphysical properties and significance in various traditions, natural gemstones hold a very special place in society, and our hearts.

Meet our stones...

Emeralds

Uncovered in north-central Zambia, near the Kafubu River, these vibrant green gemstones are incredibly complex - only when two different types of rock come into contact; the white pegmatite and the metamorphic talc-magnetite schist, is this exquisite gemstone formed. Belonging to the Beryl family, Emeralds are loved for their rich, saturated colour, as well as their associations with hope, growth, renewal and peace. Arguably one of our favourite stones to source, round-cut, pear-cut and emerald-cut Zambian Emeralds sit across our collection of rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings.

Rubies

These striking gemstones are over 500 million years old and rank among the world’s most precious gemstones. Our Rubies have been found in Mozambique, where they were first discovered by local hunters walking near the M’sawize villages and where their colour ranges in various red hues. Formed only in ultimate temperature conditions when magma interacts with host rocks in a low-silica environment, rubies are as rare as they are beautiful.

A stone of love, passion, power and courage, Rubies are believed to energise the body and protect it from fear.

Tanzanite

Tanzanite is believed to be 600 million years old, yet was only discovered in 1967 by Maasai tribesman, Ali Juuyawatu. Solely mined in The Merelani Hills, a very small part of Tanzania, Tanzanite is a very rare and special gemstone. First believed to be a Sapphire, this gemstone proved to be far more complex, and as it has become more and more desirable, enchanting all who see it, it has taken its rightful place right next to the Diamond.

Tanzanite is loved for its vivid violet colour, high clarity and potential for large cut stones, as well as its transformative powers and protective properties - believed to turn negative energies into positive.

Diamonds

Diamonds, known for their unmatched brilliance and hardness, are formed under high temperature and pressure conditions that exist only about 100 miles beneath the Earth’s surface. Prior to the 18th century, most Diamonds were found in India but have since been discovered all over the World; Africa, South America, North America, and Russia.

A symbol of clarity and strength, Diamonds have a timelessness and hypnotising sparkle that is hard to beat.

white sapphire

These exquisite stones, part of the corundum family, are loved for their remarkable hardness and durability, ensuring they stand the test of time. Unlike their more commonly known blue counterparts, white Sapphires are colourless, offering a stunning and affordable alternative to Diamonds without compromising on beauty. Their clear, intense sparkle enhances any jewellery design, making them a perfect, everyday choice for those seeking a timeless and sophisticated look. Sourced sustainably and set in 18kt yellow and white gold, we have used white Sapphires across our collections to create unique pieces that will last many lifetimes to come.
